FOR BOYS · YEAR 9 OR 10 · A FULL SCHOOL YEAR
BECOMING
One lesson a week. One question all year. A culture your school keeps.
A year-long, school-embedded formation program that forms confident, authentic, empathetic young men, delivered by your own trained staff.
The problem you already see every day
1 in 4
young Australian men personally endorse the rigid rules of the "Man Box": act tough, hide emotion, sort it out alone.
2 in 3
young men watch masculinity influencers, and those who do report worse mental health and less willingness to seek help.
35x
boys who most strongly endorse Man Box rules are 35 times more likely to perpetrate verbal sexual harassment.
These norms are learned, and they shift. Attitudes formed in adolescence are not fixed, which makes the school years the intervention window. What boys need is not another lecture. It is a weekly, trusted, in-person alternative to the script the algorithm is selling them.
Becoming refuses the deficit narrative. Boys are not a problem to be managed. They are young men of enormous capacity whose energy, loyalty and courage need direction, not suppression.
Not an event. Not a speaker. Cultural architecture: a shared language, a weekly rhythm, and milestone formation moments your school owns and repeats.
Thirty-six weekly experiential lessons across four terms, inside your existing pastoral or wellbeing line. Empowerment-Ed provides everything: ready-to-teach lessons, facilitator certification, student logbooks, digital resources, imbedded milestone formation moments and first-year implementation coaching. Your school simply provides the relationships.
Four pillars, four terms, one arc
1
Identity & Persona
Who am I now?
Masks, the Man Box, strengths, values, and the algorithms shaping digital identity.
2
Belonging & Contributing
Where do I stand?
Group norms, banter versus harm, bystander courage, inclusion, brotherhood.
3
Connection & Relationships
How do I relate?
Emotional literacy, empathy, listening, respect, consent, in person and online.
4
Purpose & Meaning
Who am I becoming?
Redefining success, responsibility, future-self mapping, legacy projects.
Designed to be more than four topics; they are the four sequential floors of the same building.
The weekly rhythm
1 · Move
An experiential activity that creates engagement in the phase of the lesson.
2 · Notice & Name
A facilitated debrief: what happened, what it felt like, what it maps to in real life.
3 · Frame
One short, practical insight. Minutes, not ‘the lecture’.
4 · Reflect
A guided logbook reflection back to the guiding question.
5 · The One Thing
A small behaviour to practise this week, reviewed at the start of the next lesson.

Founding Schools 2027
Become a Founding School
Both programs launch in 2027 with a founding cohort of schools, and a select number of founding places are available for a Term 1 launch. Founding schools receive a significant year-one subscription reduction, priority facilitator training in December/January, direct input as the programs are refined, and recognition as a founding case-study school, always with your approval. In return we ask only for honest feedback and simple pre and post student measures.

The next step is simply a conversation.
